Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Serum or plasma
Container/Tube:
Serum: Clot, plain, or activator
Plasma: Lithium Heparin, plain or gel separator
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Specimen Minimum volume: 0.4 mL
Collection Instructions: Samples should be obtained before patient undergoes prostate manipulating, especially needle biopsy.
Note: If testing will be delayed more than 24 hours, specimens should be removed from the clot, separator, or red blood cells and stored frozen.

Frozen (preferred) up to 6 months/Refrigerated up to 24 hours
