Preferred Container/Tube: Culturette swab

Acceptable Container/Tube: Specimen container or inoculated Thayer-Martin agar plate(s)

Collection Instructions:

Endocervical or anal: Routine culturette per provider protocol.

Urethral: Gently scrape the mucosa of the anterior urethra using a mini-tip culturette.

Additional Information: Specify exact specimen site.

Acceptable Specimen Type: Joint Fluid

Container/Tube: Sterile container

Collection Instructions: Aspirate fluid per provider protocol.

Specimen Type: Anal, vaginal, throat, or eye specimens
