Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Plasma or serum
Container/Tube:
Plasma: Heparin, plain or gel separator
Serum: Clot, plain, activator or gel separator
Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.1 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Separate plasma/serum from cells or gel as soon after collection as possible.
2. Specimens, original tubes, and aliquots must be tightly capped to prevent loss of CO2 and run ASAP.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Refrigerated (preferred) up to 3 days/Ambient up to 8 hours/Frozen up to 2 weeks
