Specimen Type: Plasma or serum
Container/Tube:
Plasma: Heparin, plain or gel separator
Serum: Clot, plain, activator or gel separator
Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.1 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Preferred sample time for toxic or overdose samples, 4 hours and 12 hours post overdose.
2. Preferred sample time for therapeutic levels is 0.5 to 1.5 hours post ingestion.

Refrigerated (preferred) up to 14 days/Frozen up to 45 days
Reference Values
Reference Range: <25.0 mcg/mL
Therapeutic Range: 10.0-30.0 mcg/mL
Critical Value:
Toxic: 4 hours post-ingestion: >200 mcg/mL
Toxic: 12 hours post-ingestion: >50 mcg/mL
